Spinal control. Felt. Seen. Heard. SEG-B® is a training board for practicing control of how your spine moves. Lie on it and roll your spine up off the board and back down, one section at a time. It's a control challenge, and it's harder than it looks. This is often called spinal segmentation.
How the board shows you. SEG-B has 14 keys that move independently under your back. You feel the ridged keys and listen for clicks: a click signals that a key reached the end of its travel. A blue line along the sides of the keys shows which keys are down, which are up, and the order they move in.
Built for people who teach movement. Physios, chiropractors, strength and conditioning coaches, and Pilates and movement studios get a control task they can set, cue and watch. Your client feels the keys and listens for clicks, and you both watch the blue line.
Training on your own? Watch the blue line in a mirror.

SEG-B is a training tool. It is not a medical device. If you have a health concern, check with a qualified health professional before you start.
From the people who use it
The SEG-B from Backsync has become a staple in our morning prep … It's lightweight, intuitive, and easy enough to integrate into a daily routine … players aren't skipping it because it's cumbersome, they're doing it because it fits.
The SEG-B enables us to enhance our performance program with a tailored core and spinal loading program developed for each athlete which longer-term aims to reduce lumbar stress injuries that are common in our sport.
Meet SEG-B
A Control Challenge for Your Spine
Rolling your spine up and down one section at a time is harder than it sounds. It takes fine control. SEG-B makes that control visible: the keys click as your back presses them, and the blue line shows which keys are down, which are up, and the order they move in — so you can feel the keys, hear the clicks and watch the blue line.
The Science
The science behind SEG-B
SEG-B is a training and biofeedback tool, built on well-established principles of how the body moves, senses itself, and adapts to training. These are the main fronts of research behind it — they support the general principles, and are not claims that SEG-B treats any condition.
Control is a skill you can practise
Movements you can't easily see or feel are hard to practise. Research on other kinds of real-time feedback, such as ultrasound imaging, has found it can help people learn specific movement tasks. SEG-B gives you feedback you can feel, hear and see while you move. SEG-B itself has not yet been studied.
What the board shows you
Each of the 14 keys moves on its own. The blue line along the keys shows which are down, which are up, and the order they go down and come back up.
Awareness of how your back moves
Research on body awareness looks at how well people sense the position of their back. SEG-B is designed for practising awareness of how your back moves on the board, section by section.
Controlled practice, with or without load
Research on resistance training links training under load with adaptation. SEG-B is designed for slow, controlled practice one section at a time, from bodyweight movements to loaded variations.
The Through-Line
SEG-B turns spinal control into something you can feel, hear and see — so every rep is practice at moving your spine with precision.
